A FARINI AFTERNOON

August 21 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

$20.00

Author Shane Peacock and musician Ian Bell wil lead us in a celebration of the greatest Canadian funambulist, William Hunt, AKA The Great Farini.  Known chiefly for his tight rope feats over Niagara Falls, Farini was also one of the world’s greatest circus performers and entrepreneurs, an inventor, explorer and author!  For most of his life he considered Port Hope as home and he is buried there. Shane Peacock is a prolific author whose writings include the definitive book on Farini.  Ian Bell is a folk musician, composer, and singer-songwriter who has been active in the Canadian folk music scene since the 1970s.  Among his compositions is “Signor Farini”.

This presentation is made possible through the generous support of Dr. Morgan and Mrs. Joan Hubbel.
